David Erickson
Co-Founder and CEO, Forward Networks

David holds a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford. He is a contributor to the OpenFlow spec and the author of Beacon, the OpenFlow controller at the core of commercial products from Big Switch Networks, Cisco, and others, and open source controllers such as Floodlight and OpenDaylight. His thesis used SDN to improve virtualized data center performance.

Brandon Heller
Co-Founder and CTO, Forward Networks

Brandon received his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford. Involved in OpenFlow before it had that name, he served as main editor of the spec for three years, seeing it grow from an academic prototype to a real tool for industry. His more recent projects include energy-efficient data centers (ElasticTree) and flexible network emulation (Mininet). Read Brandon’s 2020 interview with Authority Magazine

L. William (Bill) Krause serves as Board Partner with Andreessen Horowitz. He has been President of LWK Ventures, a private advisory and investment firm, since 1993, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Veritas and Senior Advisor to The Carlyle Group.

Mr. Krause served as President and Chief Executive Officer of 3Com Corporation from February 1981 to September 1990 and Chairman of the Board from September 1987 to September 1993. He was employed at Hewlett-Packard Company for 14 years from 1967 to 1981 in various marketing and general management assignments, including general manager of the General Systems Division.

Andreas Stavropoulos is a partner at DFJ, currently serving on the boards of Forward Networks, Diamanti, Meetup, CircleCI and Resin, in addition to being involved with Zymergen and others. Prior investments include Appstream (Symantec), Centerpost (West Corp.), Epocrates (NASDAQ: ATHN), Everdream (Dell), Mobile 365 (Sybase), Silverpop (IBM), Vizu (Nielsen), and Yodle (

Before joining DFJ, Andreas was with McKinsey & Company’s San Francisco office, where he worked with senior management teams of corporate clients with an emphasis on information technology. Andreas was also a senior analyst at Cornerstone Research, a financial and economic consulting firm that helps resolve complex issues arising in high-profile business litigation.

Joshua Matheus

Josh joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 and he currently manages Global Network Engineering. Prior to that, he managed Network Architecture from 2010 to 2012. Earlier in his career, Josh held roles specializing in electronic trading network systems and market data. Josh joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 as an associate in Network Engineering in Investment Banking Division Technology. He was named managing director in 2017. Josh earned a BS in Computer Science from Marist College in 1999.
